Recently The Kashmir Files has been announced to be tax-free in some states of India, including Chandigarh. As per the orders, The Chandigarh Administration has settled not to charge the Union Territory Goods and Services Tax (UTGST) on the movie The Kashmir Files. This amendment is for the next four months, considering the idea of the plot and other social markers.

The cinema theaters and multiplexes can not increase the entry fee. Also, they shall not make any changes in the seating capacity of different classes. Besides that, the theaters will be subject to the State Goods and Services Tax.

The movie was released on 11 March 2022 and is becoming the highest-grossing film in theaters post the pandemic. The Kashmir Files has made an income of 200.13 crores till day 13th of its release. 

With a cost of 20 crores, the film has made a yield of 180.13 crores. It summarizes the large number of 900.65% ROI. It has carried down Uri – The Surgical Strike, which had 876.24% ROI. It has also left behind Sooryavanshi and the movie ’83.

The Kashmir Files has acquired an R16 category from the New Zealand Classification Office, with an organized release date of 24 March 2022. British and Australian censors have given the film an R18 and 18 plus rating.
