When Covid-19 made its appearance in India, it brought deadly waves in its wake. Massive upheaval followed, disrupting everyone’s life. The Indian Government’s response was swift and significant. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) provided instructions and recommendations for Covid-19 containment from March 2020. After two years gone, a rapid decrease in the active caseloads in India by administering cumulative vaccine doses, the MHA has revised its guidelines. It has asked the States to adopt a risk assessment-based approach. All the States are free to discontinue after March 31, the guidelines issued under DMA for the containment of Covid-19.
Based on the MHA-issued guidelines and declining Covid cases in Chandigarh, UT Adviser Dharam Pal has revealed the same to the public. The order further stipulates that failure to wear a mask in public or at work will not result in a penalty or fee. However, the public was advised to follow the Covid safety protocols, including wearing a mask and maintaining social distance.
- The Chandigarh Administration on Monday lifted all the remaining COVID-19 restrictions and made the use of face masks in public places optional, given the reduction in COVID-19 cases.
- According to the order, no penalty would be assessed for not wearing a face mask in public or workplaces.
Stay healthy and happy! The administration recommended people follow COVID best practices, such as wearing a face mask, washing their hands, and maintaining social distance. Don’t be alarmed; divert your attention and try to concentrate on the pleasant things of life. If any symptoms occur unexpectedly, see a doctor.
